Is tipping getting out of control in the US? After the pandemic and with the increase in digital payments, customers are overwhelmed by the number of places where they now have the option to tip.
“The American public feels like tipping is out of control because they’re experiencing it in places they’re not used to,” said Lizzie Post, co-president of the Emily Post Institute, to CNN. “Moments where tipping isn’t expected makes people less generous and uncomfortable.”
Specialists agree on one point: do not stress out and be generous when you can.

Experts say 15% is still OK, but they recommend at least 20% for good service and 10% if you dislike it.
